BOY CALLS 911

An 8-year-old boy in Boston called 911 Tuesday morning to report his mother had beat him with a belt.

The child’s 33-year-old mom then got on the phone and admitted to dispatchers that she hit her son. “I did strike him because he was fighting with his 6-year-old brother,” a police report stated.

The incident happened before the boy headed off to school, so when police arrived, he was already on the bus on his way to class.

An officer and ambulance were sent to the school to pick up the boy. He was then evaluated at a local hospital.

Police say the boy’s mother struck him twice with the belt, but that it was the first time that it had ever happened. Furthermore, school officials told police they have no problems with the mother’s parenting skills.

She was not arrested; however, police did file a report with the Department of Children and Families.

Here's the stone cold truth: I was a loud, obnoxious kid and when I get really out of hand my dad would beat the crap out of me.  How did I turn out?  I never joined a gang, I've never been to prison, I obey most of the laws and I was a solid B+ student in college.

Do I think it's wrong to hit kids when they really deserve it?  Well, let me put it this way: do you want your kid to grow up and get a face tattoo?
