Obama in Newtown: A Speech about Guns

Obama spoke at the Newtown shooting memorial over the weekend and exploited the event for his anti-gun propaganda.

Obama said that in the coming weeks, he would use "whatever power this office holds" to engage with law enforcement, mental health professionals, parents and educators in an effort to prevent more tragedies like Newtown.

"Can we say that we're truly doing enough to give all the children of this country the chance they deserve to live out their lives in happiness and with purpose? I've been reflecting on this the last few days," Obama said, somber and steady as some in the audience wept.

"If we're honest without ourselves, the answer is no. And we will have to change.

He promised to lead a national effort, but left unclear was what it would be.  He exploited these children's deaths for anti-gun propaganda.  He crapped all over the constitution and the graves of dead children...Geez, Obama....lay off.

Guns dont kill, people do - 2012-12-20
Mr Obama wants to ban guns, are knives next? Up in Oklahoma 2 guys used a truck load of fertilizer to kill a bunch of people including kids, are we going to ban fertilizer? One could easily use a car to kill a bunch of kids at a bus stop, are we going to ban cars? You can cover the floro of any department store with assault rifles and or any firearm and not one person would get hurt or killed. BUT once someone picks it up then its a different story. One more BUT, if the Federal Government has anything to do with the mental screening then no one will be able to own guns, they (the government) will say were all mentally incompetent!!!

What has happened is beyond description. But, we all know what the President meant by his statement that things have to change. My question is.. Why is the media ignoring the fact that in the midst of this national tragedy, our first lady is vacationing (on tax payer money) in Hawaii and Not in the memorial services with her husband mourning this lose. I can just imagine if this had happened with a republican in office. SO SICK of the double standard!!!!!!

Time for a change - 2012-12-17
Sorry I love W&J, but he did leave it open... so to say he exploited it is a little leading... maybe he thinks we should arm teachers and admins with guns... I think the posting of this is a little immature... Have a little more class... just for now while the town & nation mourns... when the last child is buried, then we can turn our focus to the political war..
