Taser Report du Jour

Helena Independent Record (Montana) -

Police used a Taser on a 29-year-old man at the county courthouse Monday morning after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.
Kyle Tiewater’s former girlfriend was at the courthouse to file a restraining order against him at the time of the fight at about 10:30 a.m., Helena Police Chief Troy McGee said.
“For some reason, (Tiewater) showed up,” he said, adding that he was not sure if it was a coincidence or deliberate.
Tiewater is accused of repeatedly punching the man.
Police arrived and ordered Tiewater to stop hitting the man, but he did not comply, McGee said.
An officer then used a stun gun once to subdue Tiewater. Justice of the Peace Mike Swingley, a former state trooper, assisted in handcuffing Tiewater.
Tiewater faces misdemeanor charges of assault and obstructing a peace officer.
