We are often asked, "Who is the hot up and coming radio show that will follow the Walton & Johnson tradition ?" Well the answer to that is sadly .... "There isn't one" Modern radio management and cluster mentality does not encourage one. There is no farm system or plan for the future. Most management hires what is available today with thought of grooming programming talent for the future. The new model is to own every important radio station there is so that when listeners are bored with one station and push the button they will likely land on "one of ours" anyway, so why be good. In fact radio will rid itself of the W&J's of the world at it's earliest opportunity. They only employ us out of self defense. "If we don't use them our competition will".
We are Supposed to Believe this Why ?

In 2005 our CIA reports that Iran is developing nukes and we are going to get the "big suicide run to Allah". OK...we rightly start stirring it up and getting everybody ready for us to drop the big one down their shoot....... BUT wait now the same spies tell us in an all new 2007 report that Iran dropped their nuke program in 2003. Wait, the report in 2005 (two years after 2003) said danger..somehow now in 2007 we find out something that happened in 2003. Now do we believe the first one ? Do we believe the second one ? Or do we believe that we damned well need some new spies.
What Do We Do

Do we sweep the sugar off the table or build the fence ? If you were a poor Mexican or Central American and your country had no jobs, a corrupt government, no middle class, no health care, no schools, no retirement plans, no welfare, no infrastructure, and just a short wade across a long shallow river there was a government and media offering you everything you don't get in your country absolutely free......what would you do ? Especially since they are not even asking you to learn their native language or even pay their taxes. Oh and add to that the fact that you have been taught since you were a child that this evil land to the North stole your country's land 170 years ago and that by moving there and changing their language and culture, you will have in effect "re-conquered" your native and have been part of a patriotic subjugation of an old enemy. What would you do ? The big question is what are we going to do.
Do We Give Up ?

As the ancient curse goes "May you live in interesting times". Some of us have enough life experience to realize that we are watching something truly extraordinary and the other 80% are sleeping through the whole thing. At this very moment the major corporations who own and operate our government (executive and legislative) and media are orchestrating the careful dismantling of a great and iconic nation that took 300 years and the deaths of millions of patriot citizens in great wars. This Neocon/Democrat plan has been forming behind the scenes for the last 15 years. Break the middle class and form a new pan North American entity with a ruling class (the professional politicians see themselves in this role) and a massive lower wage class that will no longer challenge for upward mobility but look to the state for their well being in every way. A recipe for a new Nirvana (if you happen to be in that new ruling class). This is the dream. We are starting to see signs that the great middle class is now just starting to feel that they can rise up and do something to stop the professional politician class.
I Don't Feel Good About..but happy

Is it just me (and I feel pretty bad about it...he seems like a nice guy in person) but was anybody else happy that the pre-tournament crowning of Tiger Woods as the next and again Masters Champion and usurper of all of Jack's records went flat. The kid who won (Johnson) was a breath of fresh air. The obvious delight of the media types that this guy is obviously going to erase all of the records of the evil caucasians who came before gets a little nauseating sometimes. I know its not Tigers fault, he's just playing his game. It's a validation that maybe Jack, Arnie, and and Mr. Jones might actually have been pretty good golfers (not just good because no ethnic athlete was challenging them). In fact watching the late rounds at Augusta this weekend it is doubtful that Tiger and Leftie could put up the scores those guys did using those old low tech clubs and balls.
Bold New Sports World

Now we see if David Beckham can do what Pele could not....make soccer (football elsewhere) eclipse our football as America's top sport. The predictions from 20 years ago have not panned out. Thought was that since little kids were playing soccer in great numbers in the 80s and 90s that having grown up with the game the new generation would shuck America's stubborn streak of independence and join the rest of world banging their heads into hard airborne balls. Never happened. But this Beckham guy just might have a shot....not from his considerable skills or sense of fashion but mainly his wife's gigantic nipples. These may the boobs that garner the attention to bring America's 24 hour news cycle to it's knees. We shall watch with great interest.

Car...restaurant...school...movie theater...funerals.. It's official there is now no refuge from the cell phone. 4000 pound cars hurtle through traffic with vapid idiots conducting a mindless conversations that permeate their entire day while cell phone lobby keeps the lid on the number people who die everyday while these knuckleheads eat up their plan minutes. Four year olds now routinely arrive at kindergarten with their own Moto Razor..... Are we the easiest people on Earth to sell or what. The next step just seems logical. In ten years all babies will emerge from the womb with a built-in cell phone (complete with pre-arranged plan). Announcing the new AT&T Fetal Phone.
